July 9th- Feed The People

UPDATE:
WE ARE CHANGING THE NEXT #FEEDTHEPEOPLE AT FRANKLIN PARK DATE TO JULY 23RD. THE MAIN REASON IS BECAUSE WE NEED TIME TO ACQUIRE MORE SUMMER CLOTHING AND TOILETRIES TO BE ABLE TO GIVE OUT.

WE ARE CURRENTLY PLANNING A LIVE RADIO SHOW & HIP-HOP FUNDRAISER WITH Beat Konductaz AT The Peace House DC WITH LIVE PERFORMANCES FOR JULY 9TH at 3PM.

THIS WILL BE A SPACE FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY GOOD MUSIC AND COMMUNITY AND ALSO BRING FOOD, TOILETRIES AND SUMMER CLOTHING FOR THE NEXT EVENT. WE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO BRING:

Clothing: T-Shirts and Short Sleeve Shirts suitable for Summer, Caps & Visors, Shorts & Pants, Socks, Shoes

-Care Packages: Soap,Toothpaste/toothbrushes, deodorant, tampons, mini shampoo & conditioners, razors, fruit, ready to eat microwaveable or canned items with a pop top lid, granola bars, fruit cups, bug spray, sun tan lotion, and water bottles

-Donate Meal Items:

Volunteers and Donations Needed!

 

As apart of Food Clothing Resistance Collective, BGL participates in Feed The People. Every month FCRC prepare and cook fresh food to be served to people in need of a meal. This a monthly effort done by community members out of the Peace House DC. This program embodies the spirit and politics of the Black Power Movement and the Black Panther Party, and we model their programs like the Free Breakfast Program.

Our long term goal as a collective is to have this program more often and in more locations throughout the city, but we need more volunteers and donations! If you'd like to donate, click here. Also you can drop off clothes, food, water, toiletry donations at The Peace House DC (1005 Rhode Island Avenue NE)
